YOUR ENQUIRY CHECKLIST

Give us a clear picture of the project.

01 / THE PROJECT

New roof or replacement?

Tell us whether this is a new build or an existing conservatory. Include the installation postcode, your role and the roof system you are considering.

02 / THE SHAPE

Sketch the roof layout.

Identify the house wall, roof shape, width and projection. Show angled faces, returns, box gutters, obstructions and any wide openings beneath the roof.

03 / THE FINISH

List your preferences.

Include colour, glazing, tiled or solid finish, ventilation, roofline detail and any height restrictions. Mark unknown items clearly so they can be resolved.

MEASURING FOR A QUOTE

Estimates start a conversation.
Verified dimensions start an order.

Use millimetres and state exactly what each dimension measures. Do not assume an external frame size, internal room size and manufacturing roof size are interchangeable.

A sketch should show width, projection, roof shape and where the roof meets the house. Existing roof pitch, eaves and ridge heights, diagonals and unusual junctions may also be needed.

Approximate measurements are useful for an initial discussion when clearly labelled. Have the final survey and manufacturing dimensions checked by a competent person before approving the order.

SUPPLY-ONLY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan the whole installation.

Trade installers & builders

Coordinate the roof design with the site survey, supporting structure and installation programme. Allow for unloading, protected storage, safe access and the trades needed to finish the work.

Competent DIYers

Assess your experience honestly. A roof kit still requires safe work at height, accurate assembly, suitable tools and help with large or heavy components. Arrange professional input for work outside your competence.

Existing conservatories

Have the existing frames, walls, foundations and connections assessed for the proposed roof. Report signs of movement, leaks, damage and alterations, rather than assuming a roof kit will suit every conservatory.

Project approvals

Check the planning and building control position for your project before work starts. A roof system’s certification does not replace project-specific assessment or approval. Establish who will arrange this as part of your build.
